My last blog about the Philip Kingsley range was the Itchy Flaky Scalp Shampoo which can be found HERE. In conjunction with this fantastic shampoo I have been using the Philip Kingsley Scalp Toner, which is what this review is about. This is a perfect partner to the Itchy Flaky Shampoo or can be used on its own.
The main reason I wanted to try this scalp toner is because I’ve never heard of one before and I do find that my scalp can sometimes feel dry and cause me to itch at times, especially if I am feeling run down or stressed. I know facial toners can make a huge difference to your facial skin but never thought there was any available for the scalp, in a way it makes sense as when you condition your hair, the scalp receives very little moisture.
To apply this toner you unscrew the cap and apply to the scalp with the nozzle, if you have long hair I would recommend to part it into sections to make sure there is even distribution of this toner, if you hair is quite short like mine I apply it to the scalp in rows across my scalp area. Once I have applied I massage it into my scalp then leave it to sink in, you then can carry on with your usual styling or blow drying routine, there is no buildup or residue left on the hair or scalp.
After using this Scalp Toner daily for the past couple of weeks, I have noticed i’ve never once had an itchy or dry scalp and there are some days where I haven’t felt I needed to use this and now I am on a maintenance programme of every other day. I would highly recommend this for anyone with similar scalp issues, as this scalp toner, cools, soothes and hydrates, leaving you itch free.
You can purchase this Flaky Itchy Scalp Toner direct from the Philip Kingsley website from as little as £8.50 for a 75ml size up to a 250ml for £20.00. You only need to use a small amount to see great benefits so I would say the larger size would last me a good 4 months of usage.
