Tarte Holiday Blockbuster Collection Review

Tarte Cosmetics was founded in 1999 by Maureen Kelly, who wanted to use pure, powerful cosmetics without any of the unhealthy ingredients such as parabens, mineral oils and synthetic fragrances on her skin.  From Tarte’s humble beginnings in Maureen’s one bedroom apartment, with a mission to prove that glamour can be good for you, creating pioneering high-performance natural cosmetics that real people can use on a daily basis, that are infused with ingredients like super fruit and plant extracts, vitamins, minerals and essential oils.

Through hard work and determination, Tarte has become a cult beauty brand.  In 2005 Tarte launched on QVC America and was an instant hit and its popularity has continued to grow.  In the UK Tarte is available exclusively through QVCUK where the Tartelette secret has been shared across the pond.

This review is about the Tarte Holiday Blockbuster Collection, which contains 16 Limited Edition Amazonian Clay Eye Shadows, 4 Exclusive Amazonian Clay Blushes, 1 Lip Surgence and the famous Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara, all contained in a beautiful geometric box of treasure with a portable palette holder so you can take your choice of palette with you on the go, such a clever idea.

Before I talk about how this product performed, I want to take a moment to say the value on this collection is amazing, if you were to buy the equivalent in single items you would look to pay just over £260, while this collection is available for £35 on QVCUK.

Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara – Gives a false lash effect in a sweep of a brush, I have tried other mascaras before and seen lots advertised which claim to give this effect, but they all usually come with a stipulation that falsh lash inserts have been used, with this mascara you get the real true effect of false lashes, whilst conditioning and protecting the lashes.  In testing it has been shown to deliver a 330% increase in lash volume, so no matter how fine your lashes are you will achieve big full lashes, maybe for the first time.

Lip Surgence Lip Creme in “Ravashing” – Enriched with Vitamins C and E, plus peppermint and jojoba oil, instantly hydrate the lips and provide moisture rich colour, which lasts all day long, in a delicate soft rose tone which would be suitable for most complexions.  I was most surprised that the fresh, uplifting aroma of the peppermint oil really comes through when applying this lip creme.

Amazonian Clay Eye Shadows – The shades you receive are:

  • Sparkling Décor (champagne pearl)
  • Feeling Fizzy (copper)
  • Pop the Cork (hazelnut)
  • Chocolate Fountain (dark brown)
  • Tinsel & Tulle (light pink)
  • Merry Mocktail (mauve)
  • Vintage Cuff (rose gold)
  • Plum Pudding (plum)
  • Paper Snowflake (beige)
  • Up on the Rooftaupe (golden taupe)
  • Light My Fire (bronze)
  • Sweater Weather (brown)
  • Sequin Centrepiece (cool taupe)
  • Suit & Tie (shimmering grey)
  • Platinum Bauble (slate)
  • LBD (black)

Each of these eyeshadows are infused with Amazonian Clay which is one of nature’s most skin balancing, multitasking ingredients.  The clay is collected from the banks of the rivers basin where it has the highest nutritional content, the clay is then naturally baked in the sun, to lock in the plant and fruit nutrients, which is then shaved into a fine powder.

Whether you have an oily or dry skin, these eye shadows apply perfectly, giving you full pigment colour, that stays there all day whilst being kind to the skin.  What’s great is all the work has been done for you, no more wondering which colours should I use, each of the eye shadow palette tones have been selected to work together and compliment each other on the eye, to create a glamourous look.

Amazonian Clay Blush – The shades you receive are:

  • Inviting (pink coral)
  • Jolly (soft pink)
  • Cozy (shimmering golden pink)
  • Swanky (nude)

Just like the eye shadows, these blushes are infused with Amazonian Clay to give skin balancing benefits whilst giving you a creamy full pigment colour to enhance your complexion.  Each of these blushes has been teamed up with the corresponding eye shadow toes so you know they will all work together in harmony with one another.  I find with most blushes that they can look unnatural or seems to disappear throughout the day, where as these Tarte blushes stay in place all day and give you a natural hint of colour to the cheeks.

Overall this collection offers many benefits, high quality natural ingredients that are kind to the skin, shades that are complementary to your skin tone that stay in place all day, conditioning false lash mascara that truly lives up to its name and fantastic value for money, whether you are a long time Tartelette or you are yet to discover the secret this collection would be amazing to gift or a treat to yourself at this time of year.

If I was to choose my favourite shades from this collection, which is difficult as they are all gorgeous in their own way, they would be Paper Snowflake, Up On The Rooftaupe, Light My Fire, Sparkling Decor, Tinsel & Tulle, Sequin Centerpiece and of course LBD along with the Cozy Blush shade.

The lovely Leigh will be on QVCUK on the 30th November at 3pm and 11pm to showcase this collection and more wonderful Tarte offers, make sure your tune in.
