Founded over 40 years ago by Cyrus Harvey, Crabtree & Evelyn has evolved from a small, family run business specialising in fine soap from around the world, to an internationally renowned company with over 500 stores worldwide.
This inspiration for this brand came from one of the first known naturalists and conservationist John Evelyn who in the 17th Century was a visionary of his time. He travelled across Europe to experience the cultures and natural environments, which he shared with his friends in the British Society. His estate at Sayers Court was planted with a large array of elm trees and the magnificent gardens Evelyn created were a wonder of the age. The Crab Apple Tree symbol you see on all products was chosen as it is native to Britain and represents beauty and natural goodness which is inherent to Crabtree & Evelyn.
For the past couple of weeks I have had the pleasure to try the Crabtree & Evelyn conditioning Lavender Hand Wash. I have always been a fan of the Lavender essential oil, as the aroma is calming to the sense and the many benefits to the skin to be able to balance and soothe the skin.
The packaging of this hand wash has a pure and classic design, with a bevelled edges that on first glance could be taken for cut glass, I have always been drawn to handwashes that come in a pump dispenser and have clear packaging, it somehow makes me feel cleaner when using them and you can see how much is left before you need to replace.
This Lavender Hand Wash thoroughly cleanses the skin whilst remaining ph balanced and doesn’t strip the skin or cause any dryness to the cuticle area, leaving the hands fresh, moisturised and delicately scented.
The aroma is predominantly Lavender which has been enhanced and given a full bodied aroma with the addition of Violet, Tonka Bean, Lemon Leaf and Soft Musk.
I feel a sense of pride that this is displayed on my kitchen sink for friends and family to see and use. I very much look forward to trying more of the various aromas which Crabtree & Evelyn have to offer.
You can purchase this Lavender Hand Wash direct from a Crabtree & Evelyn store or on their website and it is available in a 250ml size for £15.00.
