The Philip Kingsley Elasticizer pre shampoo treatment is the most iconic hair product from the range, it was originally created in 1974 as a bespoke treatment for Audrey Hepburn, following a consultation in his London clinic, as she was concerned that the constant styling of her hair on film sets was causing stress and damage to her hair. Healthy hair is meant to stretch when it’s wet, but in this modern age of changing our hair colouring and texture can cause the hair to become brittle and break, even over using a hair dryer or the wrong brush can cause stress to the hair.
I use a hair dryer everyday and recognise that I need a treatment to help protect and strengthen my hair, as my hair has begun to feel dry and is showing signs of damage with the daily speed drying. I have decided to try the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer to see if this pre shampoo treatment could make a difference to the look and texture of my hair. I am currently trying to grow my hair, which is quite fine in texture and I am hoping this treatment could help to maintain the health of my hair. There is no scent to this product and you only need to apply around a 50p amount for short hair like mine.
I find using this the night before I wash my hair the next day, is the easiest way for me to fit this into my routine, alternatively you can apply this 10-20 minutes before you are about to wash your hair if you prefer. After just one treatment I noticed that the texture of my hair had improved, it felt a lot smoother and in much better condition. I have continued using this treatment a couple of times a week, to enhance the benefits, I have had lots of compliments about my hair, I’ve even been asked if I have coloured my hair as it has a new enhanced radiance.
If you prefer a refreshing scent to your hair and due to the success of the Neroli & Geranium Ltd Edition Elasticizer last year, Philip Kingsley have released a new Elderflower & Rhubarb Ltd Edition Elasticizer aroma which is inspired by the British Summertime at the Kingsley family estate near Henley and combines fruity notes of rhubarb, apple and green tea, with white florals of elderflower, jasmine and gardenia. It personally reminds me of my childhood as we used to grow rhubarb on my dads allotment when I was a child, it’s wonderful when scents can evoke memories.
This limited edition Elasticizer will be the beauty product of the month for March on QVCUK in a 1000ml size, Item Number 210817. This offers fantastic value for money as the regular 150ml size would cost £25 from Philip Kingsley direct and this salon size will be retailing at £57.96 with free p&p, launching on the 1st March 2016.
