Each week I receive an increasing amount of questions about skin sensitivity and eczema, I know these are tricky skin issues to cope with as there are so many factors that could cause a skin flare up and it’s all about using products that will be kind to your skin and lessen the chance of causing any skin irritation.
I have sensitive skin and I have learned to choose products carefully, I always read ingredient labels to better understand what could cause a skin reaction. Now this review isn’t about a magic cream or wonder balm, I want to talk about a special washing powder that has been scientifically proven and dermatologically tested to clean, disinfect and sanitise your clothes in a fragrance and phosphate free soluble laundry powder sachet. It is important to consider what you are washing your clothes with, as clothing is in constant contact with the skin and can be an overlooked area when it comes to treating skin sensitivity.
This special washing powder is from a brand called Simply, who are a British company that are based in West Yorkshire and want you to “Love The Skin You Live In” they recently sent me two varieties of their laundry tablets to try.
- Simply Sensitive Non-Bio – Designed to offer a clothing cleansing solution for sensitive skins, by removing phosphate chemicals to reduce the chance of skin sensitivity.
- Simply Pure Allergen & Fragrance Free – Designed to offer a clothing cleansing solution for even the most sensitive skins, including Eczema suffers. These are approved by the National Eczema Society and are phosphate & fragrance free.
I have a relatively active, healthy lifestyle and enjoy going to the gym and playing tennis, I like to push myself and build up a good sweat, which results in not so fresh looking or smelling clothes. I wanted to see if these laundry tablets could clean as well as they claim, whilst not causing any irritation to my skin.
According to the National Eczema Society, in the UK one in five children and one in twelve adults have Eczema and these numbers seem to be on the rise.
I used one tablet as recommended and was delighted with the results, not only did my clothes smell fresh and look clean, but they also felt softer to the touch with a fresh aroma and haven’t caused any skin irritations, which is brilliant as my skin can be very reactive and have wasted lots of money in the past trying other brands which have caused my skin to react. These laundry tablets may be slightly more expensive than some other brands, but they are worth every penny.
Why not give them a try for yourself, they are available to purchase from Amazon.co.uk where you can purchase a bumper pack of 48 laundry tablets for £14.98, making them 31p per wash.
