Founded over 40 years ago by Cyrus Harvey, Crabtree & Evelyn has evolved from a small, family run business specialising in fine soap from around the world, to an internationally renowned company with over 500 stores worldwide.
This inspiration for this brand came from one of the first known naturalists and conservationist John Evelyn who in the 17th Century was a visionary of his time. He travelled across Europe to experience the cultures and natural environments, which he shared with his friends in the British Society.
For the past week I have been enjoying the gorgeous aroma of pomegranate from Crabtree & Evelyn in the form of their conditioning Hand Wash and matching Hand Therapy. This duo immediately stood out to me, as I was drawn to the rich ruby red colour of the hand wash and where possible I like to match scents with one another, so the hand therapy from the same range was a must have. I have always enjoyed eating pomegranates, but this is my first experience using them in this way.
The packaging of this hand wash has a pure and classic design, with a bevelled edges that on first glance could be taken for cut glass, I have always been drawn to handwashes that come in a pump dispenser and have clear packaging, it somehow makes me feel cleaner when using them and you can see how much is left before you need to replace. Whereas the hand therapy comes in a pain tube style packaging which looks classic and has an old world charm. Which allows for easy application, with being able to squeeze out as much as I need.
This Pomegranate hand wash thoroughly cleanses the skin whilst remaining ph balanced and doesn’t strip the skin or cause any dryness to the cuticle area, leaving the hands fresh, moisturised and delicately scented. The aroma is predominantly a sweet scent of Pomegranate which has been coupled with burst of clementine blossom and fresh fig leaf which enhance the cleansing experience.
The Pomegranate hand therapy makes a perfect partner to the hand wash which has the same gorgeous sweet aroma added to the Shea Butter and Macadamia Nut base. There is also Grapeseed and Argan oil to moisturise, nourish and sooth the hands. I found this light enough to use during the day, as the biggest reason I wouldn’t use a hand cream is if my hands are left feeling greasy.
I feel a sense of pride that these are displayed on my kitchen sink for friends and family to see and use. I very much look forward to trying more of the various aromas which Crabtree & Evelyn have to offer.
You can purchase these products from any Crabtree & Evelyn store or you can head to their website. The hand wash is available in a 250ml or 500ml size and retails at £15 or £25. The hand therapy comes in a 100g size tube and retails for £16.
However there is a sale on at the moment and you can buy two of the 500ml hand washes for £30 and the hand therapy is on offer for £8, meaning you could buy two for the price of one.
