I am excited to share with you my thoughts about two new products that I have been using over the past couple of week from The Body Shop’s Oils of Life range. After being so ill recently I thought it was the best time to give this range a try as they have been formulated to intensely revitalise and hydrate the skin by using cold pressed seed oils such as Black Cumin seed oil from Egypt, Rosehip seed oil from Chile and Camellia oil from China.
The amber tinted glass packaging which these products come in are simply gorgeous, they make me feel like the ingredients within are highly potent and precious to nourish my skin.
3 Precious Revitalizing Seed Oils:
- Black cumin oil from Egypt, known for its high concentration of antioxidants
- Rosehip oil from Chile, rich in Omega 3 and 6
- Camellia oil from China, rich in nutritive oleic acid
7 Powerful Essential Oils:
- Lavender Oil from France, known for its calming properties
- Rosemary Leaf Oil from Tunisia, helps to prevent free radical damage
- Geranium Oil from South Africa, promotes radiant skin
- Roman Camomile Oil from Central Europe, known for its soothing properties
- Marjoram Leaf Oil from Mediterranean countries, gives a gorgeous natural aroma
- Orange Peel Oil from Southeast Asia, brightens and revitalizes the skin
- Lavandin Oil from Provence, enhances blood circulation and promotes cell regeneration
Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil 30ml £28 – I am a big fan of using facial oils in my beauty routine as they have a natural affinity with the skin. Don’t be put off them if you have oily skin, as they can help to balance and regulate your skins natural oil production. I have a combination skin type, but due to being unwell my skin has become dehydrated and thirsty so I know I need to step up my game to power my skin with more hydration. I enjoy using Rosehip oil already as I have tried this other brands in the past and seen great results, but never this combination with the other two main ingredients.
I use a couple of drops applied to the tips of my fingers, warm them together and massage over the facial area not forgetting the neck. I found this oil was quick to be absorbed by the skin, leaving it feeling hydrated and comforted. My skin is looking so much better since using this, the dehydration lines have started to disappear and the texture feels moist and plump.
It’s worth mentioning that the active oils contained in this product account for 99% of the ingredients, meaning no cheap fillers have been included to water down the potency, I would reccomend giving this a try to see the results for yourself.
Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream 80ml £28 – I am always sceptical about night creams as I have tried quite a few that are just a thicker, heavier version of the same brands day cream which doesn’t work as most of it comes off on my pillow. However this cream has a luxurious thick texture and a little goes a long way, which just melts into the skin, giving it an instant drink of hydration and leaves my skin feeling comforted, as though i’ve cocooned my face in a cosy cashmere blanket.
The real test for me is how my skin feels the next morning when trying any night cream and I have to say I was surprised how after one application I woke up to a visibly rested appearance and my skin felt super soft and smooth. My skin doesn’t feel heavy or greasy when using this night cream and would be perfect for all skin types, especially those that are lacking hydration.
This pot of sumptuous, dreamy cream comes in a deceptively large size, I had assumed before checking that it was a 50ml pot but it is infact an 80ml pot which has been cleverly designed in a compact glass jar, which is almost twice the size of most night creams. Considering the high quality ingredients and the results I have seen the price for this is amazing.
Both of these products have a similar aroma, it’s like a spicy herby spa fragrance, which I don’t find overpowering and dissipates quickly after a minute or two. Overall I am loving this range of products, they are well worth trying and offer fantastic value for money. The packaging is gorgeous which invites me to want to use them and more importantly they are giving results on my skin.
If you would like to experience these Oils of Life products for yourself they can be purchased on The Body Shop website or in any retail store in your local city centre. The Sleeping Cream comes in a 80ml jar and retails at £28 and the Facial Oil comes in a 30ml bottle and also retails at £28.
