Father’s Day Gift Guide

Father’s Day Gift Guide

Father’s Day is almost upon us, which means we’re already pretty much half way through the year ( i’m sure time has a mind of it’s own these days)  I cherish the time I spend with my dad as he has been such a rock of support, but even with the best planning, I tend to leave finding a gift till the last minute, if this sounds familiar then you don’t need to worry as I’ve got some fantastic gift ideas for you.

I’m pretty sure most Dad’s would appreciate a new fragrance and it’s a very personal gift to give, as they will have a daily reminder of you when they wear it,  so what better way to let someone know how much you care for them.

  • Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Essence EDP 125ml £71.50 – I have been a massive fan of the original “Le Male” fragrance for a number of years, so when this sophisticated older brother was released I knew I had to give it a try.  I can tell you I was not disappointed! It takes the inspiration from the original and turning it into a refined essence with bold notes of cardamon, bergamot and pepper, which blend into rich leather tones with herbal notes of lavender and sage, before finishing with an exquisite blend of vanilla, musk and costus thistle.  The bottle looks so elegant, as though it had been fashioned out of cut glass crystal.
  • MontBlanc Legend Spirit EDT 100ml £60 – This aromatic scent feels vibrant and refreshing, with notes of bergamot, pink pepper and grapefruit, which blend herby notes of lavender and oak moss, finishing with a touch of woody musk and cashmere.  I immediately think the man who would choose this scent, would be wearing a crisp white shirt and skinny jeans, someone who is on trend but is relaxed about it, much like the packaging of this fragrance.
  • Cartier L’Envol EDP 100ml £91 – This ouses sophisticated, high end elegance the type of scent you’d expect a powerful gentleman, who shops in only the finest of stores to breeze past you wearing, before departing in his chauffeur driven Bentley.  This fragrance is both soft and intense, inspired by the orient combining honey nectar tones with floral notes of iris, before blending into a masculine woody base with a touch of musk.  If you’re looking for something rare and exclusive then this has it in spades.  This also comes in a wonderful gift box with matching shower gel to make the gift extra special.
  • Paco Rabanne Invictus Intense EDP 100ml £69 – This is a deeply sexy scent, combining black pepper with sweeter floral tones of neroli, which blend into an intoxicating woody amber base with a pinch of salt.  I imagine the wearer of this fragrance to dress smart but with a relaxed edge of inner confidence, knowing that once the clothes come off the body is just as impressive.

For most men shaving on a daily basis can be more of a chore than a pleasure, so why not treat your dad to an award winning innovative razor from Bolin Webb which is crafted in the UK and combines shaving performance with a luxurious experience.  The R1 razor retails at £75 and is available in a choice of four robust colours, I went for their distinctive Jack design to really capture the state of the art printing technology at its best with this iconic symbol of Great Britain.  The engineering of this razor is perfection, it’s lightweight yet substantial at the same time, these razors are compatible with Gilette’s Mach 3 blade, so replacements will be easy to find as and when needed.  I think the pebble stand is a stroke of genius as I’ve never seen one that looks as elegant and classic in my bathroom, plus the branded gift box will give your dad the immediate impression this is designer, high end luxury at it’s best.  All of these razors come with a 2 year guarantee for peace of mind.

Hair Styling

More men than ever are experimenting with new hairstyles and breaking from tradition, so forget about the sticky, greasy waxes of yesteryear that weigh down the hair and up your dads hair game with these moisture infused styling products from Moroccanoil.  For shorter styles I would opt for the Texture Clay £16.35, as the blend of argan oil, shea butter and bentonite clay gives the hair lots of texture and hold that will last all day long.  Where as Moulding Cream £19.85, enriched with hydrating argan and olive oils to provide texture and definition to longer flowing styles, providing a flexible hold with a semi matte finish.  Both of these styling treatments have a gorgeous fresh aroma and attractive packaging that would look at home in any gents bathroom.

I find it difficult to find great looking, high quality jewellery pieces available for men at a reasonable price, so when I came across the Lockstone Bracelet range from Vanacci.  I was impressed by the hand crafted design, which looks uber high end with designer appeal.  At a price point of £24.99 I wasn’t expecting the stones to be semi-precious agate, which have a dark lustre that catches in the light.  There is also some fantastic new technology incorporated into this stretch-fit bracelet, as the two elongated pieces are made from Lockstone material which allows you to spritz your favourite scent onto, give it a couple of minutes to infuse then enjoy the fragrance all day long.  This is one unique and stylish gift that I know any Dad would appreciate receiving.

Fathers Day Haul

I know that most dad’s can be difficult to buy for, so if you’re struggling why not put together a Fathers Day gift box like this one from a reliable and trusted company such as ChemistUK who offer a wide variety of products to choose from.  I set myself a budget of £50 for these products, to give you some inspiration of what you could put together.

I first wanted to start with a couple of health & well-being products, so I chose the Comvita Manuka Honey Elixir with Propolis as they are a great immune booster with natural antibiotic properties, as I’ve had many a summer cold which is never very nice, also I chose the Wellman Sport supplements as they contain lots of vitamins including B6 & B12 which are great to boost energy levels, along with Coenzyme Q10 which is full of antioxidant benefits.  I then chose the Kneipp Juniper Bath Crystals, as I’m already a big fan of this 100% natural range and this muscle soothing soak is perfect for guys to use after a long day, the aroma is amazing! I simply can’t get enough and would highly reccomend using it as a foot soak for tired feet.  Next and probably the most traditional gift given to men which I chose is deodorant, as let’s face it we could do with freshening up from time to time.  I chose two options the first being the Weleda Sage Deodorant which contains 100% natural certified essential oil ingredients which work in harmony with the body to help neutralise odours and has a wonderful uplifting herbal aroma, then I went for a tried and tested favourite of mine with the Lynx Anti-Perspirant in the Peace aroma, this product is perfect for those dad’s who do lots of gardening or like to work out at the gym, as it has a 48h fresh protection built in so there is no need to worry about any sweaty smells.  Finally I chose a travel size of the CB12 mouthwash, which your dad could carry with him or take on a summer holiday to ensure he always has minty fresh breath.  I hope you enjoy this selection and it has given you some ideas of what you could create for your dad.
