The Beauty Sleep Edit | MINTD Box

Beauty boxes are always a great idea to give a try as they allow you to sample a good range of products from different brands at a discounted price.  However there can be some drawbacks to some, mainly to do with the size as often they can be too small to really be able to judge how well it suits you.

This is what sets MINTD Box apart from the because all of the products are either a full size or super deluxe sizes to really experience the results and longevity of the items within.  As were now fully into the Autumn season, the clocks have changed and the dark nights are drawing in quicker it’s the perfect time for a cosy nights in to relax and restore yourself before the craziness of the festive season ahead.

Which is why I’ve decided to try The Beauty Sleep Edit box as it’s filled with a abundance of body recharging essentials, which is perfect for me as I do find it difficult to switch off on an evening and these products have allowed me to take the time to look after my well being.

For me a relaxing night starts with a lovely warm bath and luckily there is a beautifully indulgent bath & shower oil in this collection from Aromatherapy Associates, which contains a powerful blend of Lavender, Vetiver, Ylang, Ylang and Bitter Orange designed to relax and soothe your soul.  I’ve wanted to try this brand for a while now as their formulations are always winning awards and I adore using natural essential oils in my routine as they have such a powerful effect on the body and mind.  This oil is a luxurious treat to use, I felt I had a better quality of sleep on the nights I added this to my bathing experience.  Scent is definitely a personal thing, but i’m sure you will enjoy the aroma of this potent blend and I certainly can’t wait to try more from this range.  The frosted glass bottle adds a touch of quality, which i’m proud to display in my bathroom.  This full size item if bought direct retails at £45, so it may not be your everyday choice, I like to save it for a couple of long bathing experiences a week which this would give me ten weeks worth of in this size.

The perfect accompaniment to a long hot soak in the bath for me has to be a gorgeous candle, which can also be found in this collection from NEOM Organics who only use 100% natural essential oil fragrances in a hand poured natural vegetable wax.  I like to try and focus only on the flickering flame, which allows the stresses and thoughts of the day to melt away and help me feel more centered.  This travel candle is part of their “Scent to Sleep” range and combines a blend of English Lavender, Jasmine and Sweet Basil along with 16 other essential oils to create a soothing aroma which works perfectly with the bathing oil.

I decided to take the candle into the bedroom to continue the effects and allow this potent blend to scent the room.  When using candles always allow the wax to pool to the edge as this will give maximum throw of fragrance and longevity of your candles life.  Again this is another brand which I’ve wanted to try for quite a while as I love the companies ethics to use natural sourced ingredients and their work with the Action For Happiness charity.  I will certainly be trying more of this range and may even treat myself to one of their larger candles.

Now I want to move onto the skincare elements of this collection, starting with the Omorovicza Midnight Radiance Mask, which is part of a new trend of overnight masks which makes it easier to incorporate a mask into your routine as you apply it like a night cream then go to bed with it on. The gel texture gives a cooling sensation when applied to the skin and instantly quenches with moisture and is packed full of highly active ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Red Algae, Copper Gluconate, Black Willow Bark and Salicylic Acid combined with this brands signature thermal water base.  I have combination skin and since I’ve incorporated this mask into my routine a couple of times a week i’ve noticed my skin feels more in balance and has a greater radiance too.  I am very impressed and will certainly be looking to try more of the Omorovicza range as it suits my skin perfectly.

Next there is the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil, which has somewhat of a cult following as it contains trans-retinoic acid which an advanced Retinol ester which is derived from Vitamin A and is a powerful ingredient to increase collagen production and refine the skins texture.  In the past retinol products have been known to irritate the skin due to their potency but this has a very clever formulation which includes inky Blue Tansy which has brilliant antibacterial, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties to soothe the skin, whilst feeding it with this retinol complex.  There is also a combination of cold pressed Avocado, Chia and Grapseed oils to provide essential fatty acids topically to the skin as these are important to incorporate into your routine as eating foods that contain these have very little benefit to the skin itself.

I have been using this on the nights that I don’t use the sleeping mask and I am genuinely impressed by the results, my skin looks firmer, plumped and has a greater clarity to the it’s texture.  I’ve also found this oil to be a great remedy for any inflamed areas after shaving as it soothes and calms the skin right down.  I don’t know why I’ve waited so long to try this but it is certainly going to be a staple in my routine from now on.

Finally to complete The Beauty Sleep Edit collection there is the Supermood Beauty Sleep Sweet Pillow Scent, which has a wonderful blend of calming ingredients such as Clary Sage, Lavender and Vetiver which you spritz over your pillow before you go to bed, as this allows you to breathe in this relaxing aroma as you head off to sleep.  I am personally a big fan of pillow sprays and I’ve tried a few now as I find it difficult to switch off on an evening.  If you’ve found other sprays to be overpowering then this one to me is a gentler fresher blend than others I’ve tried before, also the 30ml size is brilliant to take with you if you have to travel with work or pleasure as it allows you to take a piece of your home comfort with you.

Overall I think this is a fantastic collection which is perfect for those like me who find it difficult to find time to relax and get a good nights sleep.  With modern day living so fast paced it’s been nice to take a bit of time out for myself to recharge my skin, body and well being.  Plus the value is incredible with a saving of over £80 when purchasing this collection, compared to buying the items individually and be purchased direct from the MINTD box online shop for £85.

This would make a fantastic gift for those who need a bit of “me” time whether that be due to work or family life, also this is a very gender friendly collection as there is nothing about it that’s overly girly which guys couldn’t enjoy using.
